OK, now that I have your attention. I'd like to share a little observation.
Not too long ago, being labeled the "L" word was akin to [insert favorite slander]. However, today the only one who seems to have missed the memo on the latest sexy politico is Ann Coulter. (As though you would be surprised, Coulter is proof that ugly goes all the way to the bone.)
Liberals have really become a force to reckon with, and in record time. How do I know, the pundits don't use the word "liberal" as liberally has they used to do. In part, this is because their use of the word was a broad brush to frame anyone who disagreed with Bush as extremists. Since its quite clear Bush & Co. are in the minority, the tactic has backfired on them.
This is a huge victory!
The tactic to label opposition with such a broad brush was the bread and butter of their punditry; it is obvious these media prostitutes are really running scared. And for good reason, they know that when the political pendulum swings back, they'll be standing in the unemployment line, some may even be standing in a police line-up.
What Liberals have been able to do is not just provide instant disapproval of well merited despotism; we have diluted the self-importance of media megalomaniacs.
Liberals have entered us into a new area where psychological malfunctions are no longer considered a virtue. Crazy people on TV are seen as...well crazy. Yes, these crazies will try to convince us the sky is no longer blue, but the level of their entertainment can never again rise above the roadside car accident.
Just as the long-overdue phasing out of "reality" TV is taking place, so too, with the Bill O'Reilly's and Ann Coulter's of the world. I for one would love to call Congressional hearings into the many "facts" postulated by some very popular media personalities (under oath), and just sit and count the number of times they perjure themselves. (Earning an extended vacation in ClubFed.)
However, that's a subject for another post.
